It’s an exciting for fans of Helldivers 2. The Xbox release is imminent, and it could coincide with a Halo crossover judging by the teases and response from Xbox. With the Xbox release just a couple of weeks away, PlayStation has possibly leaked the release date of the next major Helldivers 2 update as well as its name.
PlayStation possibly leaks next major Helldivers 2 update
As spotted on Reddit in a now deleted post, the PlayStation France account reportedly leaked Helldivers 2 Light of Liberty for August 26th. The post was said to have been deleted by PlayStation France almost immediately, but the tweet was captured by Gamerant.
Below is a Google translation of the tweet, although there may be some inaccuracies:
“In darkness, light shines brightest. Join the fight to liberate the depths of dark space! #Helldivers2 “Light of Liberty” available August 26th!”
A major update on August 26th would make sense as it’s the day Helldivers 2 joins Xbox consoles. This is also the same day Gears of War Reloaded joins PS5.
Some on Reddit have theorized that Light of Liberty could possibly be a Halo Warbond, and, while possible, Warbonds typically come out on Thursday with updates on two days prior on Tuesday. It’s possible an exception could be made for the Xbox release, but it seems more likely to be the name of an update as there’s no mention of Warbond by PlayStation France.
While the above from PlayStation France isn’t official, this isn’t the first time PlayStation has possibly made a blunder. Back in May, the PlayStation Czech Republic account leaked the name of the Heart of Democracy update for May 20th, in a deleted tweet similarly formatted to PlayStation France.
We don’t know what this supposed Light of Liberty update could possibly contain, but we’re excited for August 26th anyways because of Microsoft players joining the fight for democracy.
