Helldivers 2 fans have a lot to enjoy this month. Not only is there a new Premium Warbond, but there is also the release of a new patch update. Both of these arrive today and could be the last for a while. There is stuff to anticipate for the rest of the year such as the eventual arrival of the Illuminate, and the Helldivers 2 CEO has shared when Arrowhead may release a roadmap outlining future content.
You can check out the update 01.000.400 patch notes to see all of the balance changes and fixes implemented by Arrowhead for the first time in over a month. As for the Premium Warbond, Arrowhead has confirmed the Viper Commandos release time, and it is later than all other previously released warbonds.
While the new patch and Warbond today are exciting, fans are always looking ahead to the future. There is no roadmap for Helldivers 2, but the CEO has suggested one might be on the way.
Helldivers 2 CEO gives update on roadmap
There hasn’t been a roadmap for Helldivers 2, although, at the beginning of the game’s launch, Arrowhead implied one was in-development. In February, former CEO, Pilestedt, said that the internal roadmap is “very out of date in comparison to what we now want to do“.
Since the game’s launch, there hasn’t been any mention of a roadmap until recently. On the game’s official Discord, new CEO, Shams Jorjani, was asked if a roadmap will be released outlining future developments and upcoming updates.
In response, Shams Jorjani said, “We should at some point. After the summer maybe?”.
It’s unfortunately not a lot to go off, but, assuming it does arrive after summer, that would mean sometime after September, meaning we still have a long time to wait.
Although there is no shared timeline for future content, we do know that the Illuminate are set to arrive. Arrowhead has also announced big changes to future warbonds, confirming that they will no longer be released on a monthly basis.
In addition to the slowing down of warbonds, Arrowhead also intends to continue at a slower pace for future patches. This is so they can better test them and add more content into each patch.
