Sports Interactive has officially announced Football Manager 26 following the surprise cancellation of last year’s entry. Coming out of the shadows just as fans started to worry, the annual sports simulation series is seemingly alive and well.
Revealed in a short 30-second teaser, Football Manager 26 is indeed still happening. Released across YouTube and Social Media, Sports Interactive’s next game in the annual sports series appears to bring the supposed features of its scrapped predecessor forward with the current footie season roster.
“[Football Manager 26] promises to propel players on an adventure to shape their footballing destiny with our most immersive and visually rich Football Manager experience to date,” Sports Interactive explained in a press release. “All the story-making potential is redefined as players get ever closer to the heart of the beautiful game.”
In the teaser, Sports Interactive showed off the Premier League license, which was supposed to be part of FM25, and teased the improved animations and model quality of players in the 3D Match Engine. However, it’s not known exactly what features are coming to the game. Will we still be able to import our FM24 careers?
At numerous points through the trailer, Sports Interactive shows off some form of promotional deal with EA Sports FC, formerly FIFA. What this means for the game itself is unknown. Could we somehow tie our FM26 careers in with the next EA Sports FC game?
